The Destination to Visit in 2022 - UK

UK is now open to international tourists, regardless of vaccination status. 2022 also promises a host of unmissable events. All of this puts the UK at the top of travellers’ wish lists this year! Among all the events, the most spectacular one will be the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Even though the celebration week will end soon, your clients can still travel London and beyond with some royal touches. Here are our hand picked spots and activities!

Must-Visit Royal Places

Buckingham Palace

Talking about the royal family, it is a must to visit the home of the Queen, Buckingham Palace. Apart from the not-to-be-missed Changing of the Guard, a visit to the royal home is worth a visit. It will open two short months per year, during which visitors can get a glimpse of what it is like to live like a royal as they explore the private State Rooms featuring treasurable furniture, paintings, and objects.

Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is not only the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, it is also where the queen spends most of her private weekends! From July to September, Windsor Castle will host a special display commemorating the queen’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953.

Eat like the Royal Family

Royal Afternoon Tea at The Rubens at The Palace

There is no better place to enjoy traditional English Afternoon Tea than sitting back in the Palace Lounge overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace at The Rubens at the Palace, with a reputation as one of the best in London.

Picnic in a Royal Park

Just a few steps away from Buckingham Palace is St James' Park, one of the London's eight Royal Parks where your clients can enjoy a special picnic feast served in traditional wicker baskets and filled with delicious goodies.

Shop Like a Queen

Fortnum & Mason has been the royal grocer for over a century. It carries extraordinary food and joy-giving things, many products are associated with the royals, including tea blends made for Queen Elizabeth II. To celebrate the queen's Jubilee, they also crafted the limited-edition Platinum Jubilee Collection — featuring everything from delectable preserves and keepsake homeware, to glorious gifts and party-ready hampers.

Stay with a "Royal Experience"

Located on the Queen’s former childhood residence site, InterContinental London Park Lane is steeped in heritage. In celebration of the Jubilee, guests can enjoy a specially curated immersive "Royal Experience" which inlcudes various experiences such as a private behind the scenes tour to a royal heritage jeweler, a chauffeured ride around the city in a classic Daimler once owned by the Queen Mother, and more. An even better experience would be a stay at the Royal Suite overlooking the Royal Parks.
